Ryan stars in good win for firsts in Narracott Cup

Ryan Stevenson was the star of the show scoring 60 not out and taking 3 wickets as we proved too strong for Barton.  The herald Express reported as follows:

RYAN Stevenson was man of the match as Dartington & Totnes triumphed by 30 runs over Barton in the quarter-finals of the Aaron Printers Narracott Cup.

After James Palmer and Nathan Caton-Robertson (27) powered to 36 for none in the first three overs, Stevenson kept the pace going with an unbeaten 60 as D&T reached 128 for five in their 20 overs.

Barton’s start couldn’t have been a bigger contrast as they were 33 for five after 10 overs and on their way out – pacer Stevenson taking three for 11.

Tom Drake hung around to make 40 not out and Tom Porter clubbed an entertaining 17 at the end as Barton scraped up 98 for seven.

Waiting for D&T in the semi-final at Torquay on July 2 are Abbotskerswell.

Dartington & Totnes 128-5 (R Stevenson 60no, N Caton-Robertson 27; W Wyatt 2-29), Barton 98-7 (T Drake 40no, T Porter 17; R Stevenson 3-11, M Rusling 2-14). D&T bt Barton by 30 runs.

Editor’s note:  This may be the Tom Drake who used to play for Babbacombe and scored 50 against us in the Brockman Cup Final a few years ago.
