Mick capped a fine 9 over spell by breaking 2 ribs throwing himself after the ball whilst fielding at backward square leg.
Whilst lying on the ground in some discomfort he said “did it go for 4?” and “this (injury) will make selection easier this week”. Cliff gave Mick the benefit of his medical knowledge and assured him he had not broken anything- In contrast to the GP he saw 4 days later who said 2 ribs were fractured. The Chairman continued fielding to the end of the match and then sorted out some recycling. He will now be out for the remainder of the season- “just when I was coming into form” he quoth.

The Chairman moans “why is it so difficult for people to recycle bottles and cans?”
